WATER BILLS FLOW INTO PAYPOINT 5 August 2010 PayPoint retailers in the South East of England are benefiting from the decision by two of the region’s water suppliers to enable their customers to pay their bills at PayPoint.
South East Water Ltd serves around 2.1 million households in Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Berkshire and Hampshire with 565 million litres of drinking water a day, while Veolia Water South East provides around 43 million litres of water a day to approximately 158,000 customers throughout Folkestone and Dover, together with surrounding rural areas, including Romney Marsh and Dungeness.
Both companies are promoting PayPoint as a payment channel, encouraging their customers to take their bar-coded bills to any PayPoint outlet, where they can pay up to £99 at a time.
“Every household in the South East corner of the country can now pay their water bills at their local PayPoint,” said Mike Igoe, Retail Strategy Director at PayPoint. “We are very focused on driving additional footfall and profits for our retailers and this extension of opportunities for customers to pay their water bills at PayPoint delivers exactly that.
“Not only are we constantly adding new schemes to drive additional footfall into our retailers, such as transport tickets and council tax, but in the last year, we have launched entirely new services – such as our SIMs direct sale proposition, PayCash and Collect+, the revolutionary parcel collection and drop-off service – that appeal to a wider population and, therefore, attract an even greater number and diversity of customers across all income groups into the shops.”
