PAYPOINT: SERVING THE PUBLIC TRANSPORT AND TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SECTOR

PayPoint is playing a pioneering role in the development of retail payment infrastructures designed to meet the needs of public transport operators responding to accelerating change in governmental policy on ticket purchase. PayPoint was also the only payment collection solution provider to be selected by Capita on behalf of Transport for London to provide the means of purchasing London Congestion Charge permits ‘over the counter’ in cash. By developing compatible on-line payment and data-forwarding systems, and enhancing its already well-established retail agent network in the London area, PayPoint was immediately able to accept and process tens of thousands of Congestion Charge payments from the scheme’s very first day of operation in February 2003.
