PayPoint, the UK’s leading payment collection network, recently announced its partnership with mobile phone company MTN Nigeria. Now they are expanding into the Jamaican community market through a new partnership with Digicel, one of the Caribbean’s leading mobile service provider.
PayPoint customers can now buy MTN Nigeria and Digicel top-up vouchers for family, friends and business colleagues in Nigeria and Jamaica. The PayPoint receipt produces a PIN which can be texted or e-mailed to contacts in Nigeria and Jamaica and the receiver enters the PIN in exactly the same way as if they had purchased it in their own country.
The MTN Nigeria and PayPoint partnership has been running for 6 months and has proved to be extremely successful. Both parties have been working together to introduce a new incentive for customers and this is now up and running until the end of August. Not only will every MTN Nigeria subscriber receiving a top-up from the UK be automatically entitled to 10% extra free credit, they will also be entered into an MTN Nigeria prize draw where the winner could walk away with 1M Niras (equivalent to around £4,000 at current exchange rates).
Mike Igoe, PayPoint Retail Director said: “PayPoint is delighted to be working exclusively with two of the most innovative mobile phone service providers in Nigeria and Jamaica to provide these new services. By bringing these exclusive services to the UK, we aim to satisfy the growing number of Nigerian and Jamaican communities based in the UK and provide a convenient and affordable way for them to send phone credit to their family, friends and colleagues back home.”
