PayPoint, the UK’s leading payment collection network, has announced a new partnership with Solent Blue Line buses. Customers in and around the Southampton area will now benefit from a new ticket payment option, available at over 130 PayPoint agents. The new service will allow customers to buy Solent Blue Line bus tickets in advance from PayPoint retailers.
Solent Blue Line seven and thirty day Southampton Freedom, Eastleigh Freedom and All Zones Freedom bus tickets are now available from local PayPoint outlets and can be bought up to seven days in advance.
The receipt produced at the PayPoint counter is sealed in the ticket wallet also provided and this then acts as the customer’s ticket to travel.
The new partnership between Solent Blue Line and PayPoint will be extremely beneficial for customers, providing them with a convenient and cost-effective service. It will be possible for bus tickets to be purchased in advance of travel at a time convenient to customers and helping cut waiting times at bus queues.

PayPoint is a leading payment collection network of over 15,000 outlets used, primarily, for the cash payment of bills and services and prepayments for mobile telephones and energy meters.
PayPoint began trading in 1996 and initially collected payments through its network of retail agents for its founder client investors, who included British Gas, BT, BBC TV Licensing, London Electricity (now part of EDF Energy) and four water companies.
It now has more than 500 clients including many of the UK and Ireland’s major energy, cable, mobile and fixed line telephony companies. Its blue chip client list also extends to numerous water companies, local authorities and housing associations and a growing transport and travel base.
