Tsunami Disaster Appeal - over £100,000 collected
13 January 2005

Anybody who wants to make a cash donation to the Tsunami Earthquake Appeal can now do so wherever they see a Disasters Emergency Committee poster displayed in their local PayPoint.

PayPoint retailers have been sent a bulletin with a barcode that they will need to scan to allow the donation to be processed through the PayPoint terminal.  Customers can donate any amount from £1 to £499 and receipts will be issued for all donations.

Every penny of the money collected will be sent to the charity – there are no handling fees or charges associated with processing these donations.

For more information about the Disasters Emergency Committee Tsunami Earthquake Appeal please visit their website at www.dec.org.uk.

If you are a PayPoint retailer and you have mislaid your bulletin with the Tsunami Earthquake Appeal donations barcode, you can download and print the Barcode Bulletin here.

Make your donations count with Gift Aid

When PayPoint retailers receive their bulletin and posters they will also receive a supply of Gift Aid forms to hand to customers with their donation receipt.  All the customer needs to do is fill the form in, attach it to the receipt and send it to the freepost address printed on the top of the form. The Disasters Emergency Committee Tsunami Earthquake Appeal will then be able to claim back any tax they have to pay on these donations.
