PAYPOINT AND WESTERN UNION COLLABORATE TO MAKE MONEY TRANSFER EVEN EASIER
7 April 2009

PayPoint, the UK’s leading convenience payments network, and Western Union, a
global leader in international money transfer, have teamed up to enable more
retailers to offer their customers the facility to send and receive money around the
world.

PayPoint agents opting to benefit from providing Western Union services can offer
their customers three options: Money in Minutes, Next Day and Two Day Service.
The only equipment they need in their store is a PC and internet connection to go
with the Western Union software provided. This creates a significant opportunity for
retailers to raise their profile in their local communities as the economic crisis
spreads to affect developing economies, making the contribution from UK-based
workers even more essential to their families back home.

All customers need to do is go into their local participating PayPoint outlet and
complete the ‘To Send Money’ form and the funds will be transferred quickly and
reliably. Customers will receive a copy of their ‘send’ form once the transaction has
been completed as their receipt.

Rita Patel of Hardings Newsagents in Tottenham, north London, has been a Western
Union Agent since September 2006. “Western Union is an essential service to many
of my customers, who come from all over the world,” she says. “They value the
convenience of having it close to where they live and I benefit from the extra sales
when they come to my store.”

Hikmet Ersek, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Western Union
EMEA-APAC, states: “Western Union offers a fast, convenient and reliable service
for millions of people around the world, and joining forces with PayPoint will ensure that it is available to more people at the most convenient time and location, making it
easier to send money back to loved ones in another country.”

Dominic Taylor, Chief Executive of PayPoint, adds: “This is a significant step for both
Western Union and PayPoint. Local convenience stores are at the heart of
communities up and down the country and being able to offer additional services
such as Western Union Money Transfer from PayPoint helps them to bolster their
relationships with both existing and new customers.”
