PayPoint, the UK’s leading convenience payment network, and BP Retail
have announced an extension of their exclusive agreement to provide
mobile top-up and other services throughout the BP forecourt estate.
This agreement with BP sees PayPoint providing a full range of EPoSbased
mobile top-up services at BP’s 330 company-owned sites across the
UK as well as at a growing number of BP-branded dealer sites. The
agreement also includes Congestion Charge in all outlets and gift cards in
BP-owned sites except those with M&S Simply Food outlets.
David Pitron, BP’s UK Trading Director, said: “Our sites are located in
highly convenient locations on major routes and in local communities
where our customers can drop in for fuel and buy groceries and other
products at our forecourt outlets. They expect mobile top-ups to be part of
the service and value the convenience of combining fuel and top-up
purchases at the same place, so we are delighted to extend our
relationship with PayPoint further.
“We have enjoyed a successful partnership with PayPoint since 2005 and
this new agreement builds on the foundations already in place. As part of
this partnership, BP will work with PayPoint to introduce additional new
schemes to further strengthen our customer proposition and value. This
expansion of services is already underway and can be illustrated through
the successful introduction of giftcards in Oct 2008. With our expansion
plans in the convenience sector, we see PayPoint as a long-term strategic
partner to help us achieve those plans.”
Mike Igoe, PayPoint’s Retail Strategy Director, commented: “We are
delighted to be continuing our association with BP and look forward to
furthering the strong trading relationship we have established. The BP
forecourt estate includes some of the best-known convenience brands in
the country and the PayPoint service helps them to attract new visits to
their stores whilst further satisfying the needs of their existing
customers.”
